an awesome Victorian
tortoise shell heart pin with an operculum center. This shell is
from the "Turban Snail," and is also called "Pacific Cat Eye." It was
believed that they were capable of warding off evil. This pin/brooch measures 1-1/2" in width, 1-1/2" in
length and has the old "C" clasp locking mechanism. Note: Our inventory of tortoise shell jewelry is either antique or vintage and was imported prior to the 1960s. Due to U.S. law prohibiting the international sale of tortoise shell, we cannot ship these items outside the U.S |
