| Back | This vintage jewelry box is clad in exquisite rectangular pieces of glossy tortoise shell with some wonderful colorings, from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown. Each rectangular piece of tortoise shell has been glued individually to create a geometric pattern on this wonderful wood box. The box has four brass hinges, two on each side of the box, with felt inside. The bottom has a tray that lifts out. The tray has seven small compartments and two large ones. Perhaps it was used as a gentlemen's jewel box. It measures 9-3/4 inches by 7-1/4 inches by 3-1/4 inches tall. |
