This bird brooch is made from pot metal, and is brightly enameled in yellow and green along the body, head, and
tail feathers. It is studded with clear rhinestones and has a red rhinestone eye. In Julia C. Carroll's book "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202" on page 24 is a picture and description of this
piece. The design patent number for this pin is 129843, issued October 7, 1941. Her price for this early, unmarked Boucher brooch is $400 to $600. This is quite an amazing piece; the
detail is so involved and the design is exquisite. It measures 3-1/2" by 3". For being 66 years old, it has a surprisingly small amount of
enamel missing on the back of a tail feather.
