Elsa Schiaparelli was the rival of Coco Chanel. In the
1930s she produced more jewel looking costume jewelry, set with
fake gems and lots of sparkling rhinestones. This fabulous pair
of earrings is from that 'cocktail hour' period. These earrings
are signed in script Schiaparelli; they have clear faceted
rounds and baguettes prong-set in a silver tone with the top
part curving up the ear, as well as a 3" drop below and a giant
emerald green teardrop stone that measures 5/8". Each one of the
elongated silver pieces in the drop has a lovely sparkling clear
rhinestone. The rhodium plating makes all the clear rhinestones
look like diamonds. The earrings from top to bottom measure 4".
These gorgeous earrings with the green stones would be perfect
for the holidays! Vintage Schiaparelli pieces are a great
investment. They are dramatic, daring and dynamic. What a great
collectors piece!
