| Whitby Jet is an intense hard black substance, closely allied to coal and good for carving. Jet Jewelry was a very popular material for mourning jewelry during the Victorian period. This is a beautiful carved Whitby Jet Brooch set in Sterling silver. The shape is oval and the carving are of flowers. It measures 1-5/8" in length and 1-1/4" in width. The condition of this Brooch is excellent what a lovely gift this would make. | |
